The passage of the Clean Water Act of 1972 and subsequent amendments had a significant impact on the quality of our water resources by reducing the amount of point sources of pollution that enter our waterways. However, Non-Point Sources (NPS) of pollution, those whose sources cannot be identified, are now our greatest threat to the water we drink, recreate in, and eat from. A comprehensive Watershed Management Plan (WMP) will help to identify these NPS of pollution so that we know where to focus efforts to reduce contamination. To develop an effective and comprehensive WMP that the community will approve and implement several steps must be taken:
Quandt Consulting Services has nearly 2 decades of experience composing WMPs that cross political boundaries and meet the requirements of state environmental agencies and the US EPA which will allow for acquisition of funding to implement the plans . We have worked in varying landscapes to understand how each land use effects our water resources and what management practices will help improve them. We are passionate about our water resources and would love to help you with your watershed planning needs.
Effective community planning requires a collaborative process that engages community leaders, decision makers, land and property owners, stakeholders and the public to make informed decisions that produce an outcome that meets the needs of a diverse community. Through community engagement, and an understanding of the big picture, successful planning will demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between varying land uses, transportation, recreation, the natural environment, economic development, and policy.
We, at Quandt Consulting Services (QCS), understand what is takes for effective planning. We have experience in watershed management planning that crosses geopolitical boundaries and meets state and federal requirements, park planning that meets state requirements and creates inclusive recreational spaces, and project planning to help prioritize your needs and strategize approaches to ensure project implementation. QCS is here to assist you in your planning efforts.
